Music in the modern world is so important. People have playlists for every mood imaginable, with different vibes and beats. I love to explore new genres of music all the time and so, my music taste is quite varied, however, I am a big fan of R and B, and indie-pop.
Arlo Parks- Collapsed in Sunbeams

The vibe of this album is so comforting. Since January, I have had this album on repeat. Arlo's voice is so soothing and calming and her music in this album is very unique and new. This was her debut album, and it gained a lot of popularity, which is no surprise at all. It has a very chilled out vibe, and I love to have this album playing in the background of my daily activities. My favourite songs on this album are 'Green eyes' and 'Hope' and 'Caroline'. I definitely think that Arlo Parks is someone that everyone should be listening to as it is easy-going music that everyone can enjoy.
Green Blue + Indigo Violet - COIN

This album is full of absolute vibes. Every song is packed with ultimate bangers. The album is very passionate and heartfelt, and you can tell that COIN are trying to steer away from their previous norm and making something new. My favourite song in this album is 'Sort It Out', as it is something that feels familiar yet entirely new. Green Blue + Indigo Violet is a fun and lively album and sometimes beautiful and airy indie-pop record which is definitely worth a listen.
Pony- Rex Orange County

I have LOVED this album for a long time because of its wide diversity and perfection in every song. I think Rex is an incredible musician and all of his songs release a lot of serotonin for me! My two favourites in this album are basically polar opposites, 'Pluto project' and 'Never had the balls' nonetheless they are both amazing in different ways. This album is very unique as it uses unconventional instruments for common pop music with jazz and strings in his music which makes it so cool and fun. He really poured all of his emotions into this album and you can hear it through his vocals and lyrics.
The Greatest Hits- Thomas Headon

Despite this being a very short EP, it has some bops on, including 'Car window' and 'Clean me up' which are my two favourites. I love the electronically synthesised sound of this album and I love Thomas' vocals; they are so pure and real. The album really shows off his character and identity. Thomas was able to gain popularity through tiktok where his songs gained huge attention, making him sell out arenas all over the UK (sadly I did not get tickets)
Californian Soil - London Grammar

This is London Grammar's third studio album and in my opinion. If you aren't already familiar with London Grammar, they are a band that blends ambient, ethereal and classical sounds with the use of melancholy, guitar, soaring vocals and synthesised electronics, with hip-hop dance influences. Their music in this album is the type of music that you can submerge yourself into and forget about everything else which is happening around you. You can shut yourself off and listen to the album and really feel at peace. My favourite song from this album is 'How Does It Feel' which featured in 'Tom's tune of the week' earlier this year.
Wasteland, Baby!

Hozier rose to fame with his single 'Take me to Church' and since then he has released two albums, gaining him a lot of popularity in the blue and soul, and indie rock music audiences. The album is something I would not usually listen to and at first, it was a little out of my comfort zone, however, after hearing it often, it has now become one of my favourite albums. My favourite songs are 'Movement' and the title track 'Wasteland, Baby!'. Hozier has an absolutely incredible voice, with a wide range which he massively takes advantage of in this album creating some heartfelt and emotive sounds and music. This album is a mix of two genres; the indie rock and the folk and soul side, which he has managed to balance complementary making it a superb album, with, in my opinion, little flaws.
Lost & Found- Jorja Smith

R and B artist, Jorja Smith, Released her album 'Lost and Found' back in 2018 and since then I have listened to it all the time. She has a one-of-a-kind style and vibe to her music, which uses a gritty, soulful town that stays true to herself. The music in this album is perfect for any occasion and I think that there is something for everyone on her album. My favourite in this album is 'Teenage fantasy' which is a great tune to get you into R and B music if you do not already listen to it.
